From shipping containers to the waterfront, challenge your family and friends to a crazy round of golf at these best places in Norfolk.


Players can choose from three themed golf courses at Putt Putt Noodle.

1. Putt Putt Noodles, Norwich

Where: Castle Quarter, Norwich, NR1 3DD

Opening hours: Monday-Thursday: 12 p.m.-11 p.m., Friday: 12 p.m.-12 a.m., Saturday: 10 a.m.-12 a.m., Sunday: 10 a.m.-11 p.m. (over 18s only after 7.30 p.m.)

Prices: 18 holes – adults: £9 pp, child: £7 pp, unlimited: £13 pp/£11.50 pp (off peak – Sunday to Friday), 18 holes: £9.50 pp/7.50 £pp, unlimited: £14/£13 (peak – Saturday 10am-9pm)

Putt Putt Noodle recently opened in the Castle District and offers three Asian-inspired courses, namely Cherry Blossom, Crouching Tiger and Dragon Quest.

There’s plenty where you can enjoy unlimited golf on all three courses from £13pp and a bar so you can make an evening of it.

2. Container Golf, Hillington

Where: The Ffolkes, Lynn Road, Hillington, PE31 6BJ

Opening hours: Every day: 9am-9pm

Prices (off-peak/peak times): Adults: £6/£8 per person, under 12s: £4/£6, book online or at the Ffolkes bar

Choose your club and face obstacles through shipping containers in this industrial-style course, with graffiti by local artists such as Knapple.

The nine-hole course features loops of loops, mazes and even a golf ball vortex, complete with a winner’s podium at the end.

3. Congo Rapids Jurassic Adventure Golf, Easton

Where: Norwich Family Golf Centre, Dunham Road, Easton, NR9 5GA

Opening hours: Monday to Friday: 9am-8pm (last entry), weekends 9am-6.30pm (last entry)

Prices: Adults: £8.50 pp, Under 16s: £6.75 pp, just show up and play

Take part in this 18-hole expedition suitable for the whole family, with obstacles such as giant mammoth tusks and a Jurassic house full of dinosaur surprises.

To add to the prehistoric experience, there are also animatronic dinosaurs on the course.

4. Pirates Cove Adventure Golf, Great Yarmouth

Where: Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2ER

Opening hours: Every day: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. (last entry 6 p.m.)

Prices: Over 13: £8.50 per person, 12 and under: £7.50 per person

Gather your team and head to the Golden Mile to tackle this pirate-themed 18-hole course, suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.

Fight your way through caves, over catwalks and under cascading waterfalls and don’t worry – the loser won’t have to step on the board.

5. Crazy Golf, Norwich

Where: Boom Battle Bar, Castle Quarter, Norwich NR1 3DD

Opening hours: Monday-Thursday: 1 p.m.-11 p.m., Friday: 12 p.m.-12 a.m., Saturday: 11 a.m.-1 a.m., Sunday: 12 p.m.-11 p.m. (over 18s only after 7 p.m.)

Prices: £8 per person, from 11 years old, book online or at the bar

This crazy nine-hole golf course features catapults, loops and conveyors and is based inside the city’s Boom Battle Bar.

Other activities include ax throwing, electric darts and shuffleboard, all of which must be booked separately.

6. Blackbeard Golf Adventure, Hunstanton

Where: South Promenade, Hunstanton, PE36 5BH

Opening hours: Every day: 10am-7pm

Prices: Adults: £6.50 pp, 10 and under: £5.50 pp, just show up and play

You can find this 18-hole course in ‘Sunny Hunny’ and you’ll even come face to face with a great white shark.

It offers great value for families with a range of obstacles of varying difficulty to overcome.

7. Crabstix Adventure Golf, Cromer

Where: Evington Lawns, Runton Road, Cromer, NR27 9AR

Opening hours: Every day: 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (weather permitting)

Prices: Adults: £7.50 pp, Under 13s: £6 pp, just show up and play

This 18-hole course on the North Norfolk coast opened in 2019 at the former site of a boating lake.

You can enjoy the view of the sea while tackling the nautical-themed course.
