ABOUT THE VETERAN GOLFERS ASSOCIATION (VGA)
The Veteran Golfers Association is a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization. organization dedicated to enriching the lives of veterans and their family members through the camaraderie and sportsmanship of golf. AGV started as an idea among wounded veterans at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC. Several friends would regularly get together to play golf courses in the area to encourage each other not only to improve their games, but also to heal through camaraderie and competition. After recovering from their injuries, these friends moved all over the country and missed the chance to compete regularly.
Realizing that other veterans might be in the same situation, these friends came together in 2014 to create the VGA, the first golf organization dedicated to promoting the game to all veterans and their family members.
