Greg Norman blasts Rory McIlroy and Jack Nicklaus for critical comments

The LIV Golf Invitational, the first event hosted by the rival Saudi-backed tour, is set to begin on June 9. The tour landed some big PGA stars in Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson, though other high-profile Tour figures were outspoken in their criticisms of the LIV Golf tour. PGA legend Jack Nicklaus, who claimed he told LIV he wasn’t interested, and Rory McIlroy, who was outspoken against the rival league throughout the process, drew the ire of Greg Norman , the face of the Saudi-backed organization. Norman took a shot at Nicklaus and McIlroy, per Golf Week.

In a story of Washington Post Titled “The Shark Is On The Attack Again,” Norman also slammed Rory McIlroy and others, suggesting they’ve been “brainwashed” against the LIV movement. Norman also called Jack Nicklaus a hypocrite after recently speaking out against LIV.

Norman accused Nicklaus of being a “hypocrite”. The former world number of the PGA World. 1 said Nicklaus “gave his blessing to LIV Golf”, which is contrary to what the 18-time major winner said.

In a wild rant, Norman then accused McIlroy of being “brainwashed” by the PGA. No one was banned in regards to Norman’s wrath, as he also came for PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan.

The Shark has been dreaming of another alternative to the PGA since being a Tour player himself. It’s clear he won’t let others’ criticism get in his way.
