Kelowna golf courses begin to close for the season – Kelowna Capital News

With colder weather and winter conditions on the way, golf courses are beginning to close for the season around Kelowna.

Although some courses have already closed for the year, the majority of courses do not have a date in place and the closing for the season is weather dependent.

Predator Ridge Resort, between Lake Country and Vernon, was the first to close for the season as their last day was Oct. 16.

Tower Ranch Golf and Country Club is having its final weekend this weekend, with its last day being Saturday, October 22.

Despite rain forecast around the city for the majority of next week, most courses will try to stay open the last week of October. West Kelowna’s Shannon Lake Golf Course will likely have its last day on Sunday, October 30, while East Kelowna’s Gallagher’s Canyon will take place on October 31.

Most routes around town, including Sunset Ranch, Black Mountain, Kelowna Springs, and Shadow Ridge, are weather dependent as they close for the winter.

The Two Eagles Golf Course in West Kelowna is also weather dependent, but electric carts will be installed for the season after the 30th. As of the 31st, golfers will only be able to get to the course on foot. They will also be arranging shotgun starts at 11 a.m.

Capital News will keep you posted when classes close for the season.
