Nelly Korda Undergoes Blood Clot Surgery, Posts Update | Golf News and Tour Information

Nelly Korda’s 2022 season came to an abrupt end on March 13, when she announced she had been diagnosed with a blood clot in her left arm. Almost a month later, the 23-year-old former world No. 1 took to Instagram with an update on her condition, sharing an image on Friday in a hospital bed after recently undergoing surgery to remove the clot.

The blood clot was found after Korda completed a routine workout at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida last month. She said she felt like her arm was swelling, so she called her doctor. As a precaution, his doctor told him to go to the emergency room.

The subclavian vein is one of the main veins in the arm. It travels under the collarbone and eventually drains into the heart.

Korda is recovering at his Florida home, according to the post. She did not say when she plans to return to competition. The last event she played was in the first week of February. Due to the blood clot, she missed the first major tournament of the year, the Chevron Championship. Korda has appeared in the first three LPGA events of 2022. His best result was a T-4 at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.

Korda’s announcement was the first time she revealed she had ever contracted COVID-19.
