Remarkably, New York golf courses are open despite our first snow

Well we had our first snowfall of the season and that may have caused a few of us diehard golfers to ask the dreaded question which is “Is the golf season over now” , followed by a very sad face.

The answer, for now, seems to be no. I called Apple Green Golf Course today to see if the snow was going to cause the course to close before December and the gentleman I spoke to said no. He also mentioned that the snow had melted and they were out there, so come and bring your clubs.

When does the Hudson Valley Golf Course close for the season

So the good news for those of us hoping for another round or two is that it looks like we’ll be able to do so as long as the weather holds. It also means we can still enjoy our favorite golf restaurants.

Earlier this year I made a list of great golf restaurants. Places where people can enjoy good food and a great view. The Hudson Valley golf courses offer the most appealing views. Since I first posted the list, I’ve added HighFalls Cafe to the Stone Dock Golf Course. They actually offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Are Hudson Valley golf courses still open?

So don’t put the clubs away, we might even play until January if the wintry weather can wait. And even if you’re not playing golf, you can still watch the course while enjoying a delicious meal. Most classes in our area will close after Thanksgiving, but a girl can hope.

Hudson Valley golf course with great food and drink

Many of our Hudson Valley golf courses offer great golf and great food. Many of them also offer party and dining options. While it might be a seasonal breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of our local golf courses, it can mean a delicious meal with a guaranteed view.
