- A former Nike staff member who later played without equipment sponsorship during his legal battle, Olesen is now on the TaylorMade staff roster in Europe and has continued the success of the brand’s new line of Stealth drivers. Olesen opts for the Plus model which is also the rider of choice for world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.
A high-quality ball striker, the Dane uses irons with a small cavity to increase forgiveness, while like so many Tour players, Olesen uses a hollow-body iron as his longest before switching to the woods. And the former Ryder Cupper is among Tour players to use Tiger Woods-inspired designs, with his “TW” cleats made by TaylorMade to mimic the grinds used by the 15-time Major winner.
Olesen was part of a four-win weekend for Titleist golf balls on major men’s tours. His victory on the DP World Tour alongside Max Homa on the PGA Tour (Pro V1), Bio Kim’s victory on the Asian Tour (Pro V1x) and Austin Bautista’s triumph on the PGA Tour of Australasia (Pro V1x ).
ESTIMATE: “It’s a massive tournament won by so many big names, so it’s a privilege to have my name on the trophy.” – Thorbjorn Olesen.
